Guide For
Measuring Shelf Baskets |
We weave our baskets free hand, not around a mold, striving
to weave the baskets to the measurements you request.
Weaving to 1/4" or 1/2" an inch is sometimes difficult.
Please give us 1/2" to 1" of leeway on the length and width
measurements. Knowing that your baskets must fit into a
specific sized space, we will make the basket smaller, not
larger than your measurements.
By following the measuring directions below, there will be
enough space around your baskets to slide comfortably in and
out of a shelf space.
Basket dimensions are measured from side to side and front
to back as we are weaving the basket.
To create an open space around your basket so that the
basket will slide in and out with ease, the measurement left
to right and back to front should be ¾" to 1" less on each
side, than your inside cupboard measurements. This would
total 1 ½" to 2" of open space around the basket. For the
top to bottom measurement, allow 1" of space. (If you are
going to have items sticking out on top, please allow for
more space.)
The bases of our baskets are approximately 1-2" smaller than
the top measurement which allows for shaping the basket as
it is woven.
MATCHING BASKET STAINS TO EXISTING SHELF OR WOODWORK
Examples of stain colors can be found on our website under
the "Basket Options" link.
Different printers and monitors show the stain colors
differently. Some stains other than the ones shown on the
website are available.
Request stain samples and we'll send them to you at no
charge.
Feel free to send us a sample of the wood, paint, or fabric
samples you are trying to match. |
